About Austin Jones
I'm a professional actor and acting coach who has been working in the industry for over two decades. I hold an MFA in acting from the Yale School of Drama where I studied with the late Earle Gister. In the nearly twenty years Earle headed the acting program at the Yale School of Drama, he trained some of the industry’s most accomplished actors working today. I continue this legacy with these aesthetics at the foundation of my teaching. I've worked for years as a private acting coach with The Actor’s Proletariat and have a year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. As an actor I've worked internationally at the Frascati Theatre in Amsterdam and in New York, Off Broadway at Classic Stage Company, The Roundabout and The Public Theatre. Other New York credits include Prospect Theatre Co., Clubbed Thumb, Target Margin, HB Ensemble, and the NY Fringe. I've also worked at a number of theatres regionally. My film and television credits include: Louie, Boardwalk Empire, Firefly and the Bride, Lipstick Jungle, Lonely (PBS REEL13), The Sopranos, Law and Order and L&O SVU.
I'm also the co-founder of Plaidwall Productions—-a producing company dedicated to character driven projects. Currently we are in production for the web series "Meantime." Season 1.0 will be live later this Fall.
